Thick Mustard gravy with small fish

iNGREDIENTS:
  • Fish -250gm
  • Onion chopped -1
  • Mustard paste -1tbsp
  • Turmeric powder -1tsp
  • Tomato chopped – 1
  • Green chilli silted -2
  • Red chilli powder -1tsp
  • Panch Phuran – ½ tsp
  • Lemon – ½
  • Garlic clove -6
  • Mustard seeds -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Oil – 3tbsp
  • Salt to taste

METHOD:
  • Clean & wash the fishes in running water. Add one spoon of salt and little water. Rinse thoroughly to clean the hidden dart. Again wash with running water. Drain out water fully.
  • Now add salt and turmeric powder. Mix thoroughly and put in rest for 10 minutes.
  • Make fine paste of garlic, mustard and cumin.
  • Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add fishes. Shallow fry both the sides. Ensure both the sides are evenly cooked.
  • Take out the fishes from the pan.
  • Add oil to Pan and heat it. Add Panch Phuran and allow it crackle.
  • Add green chili and onion. Fry a little.
  • Add Tomato & turmeric powder.Fry to ensure tomato is cooked fully.
  • Add mustard paste & red chili powder. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add ¾ cup of water. Wait for a boil.
  • Add fried fishes to the gravy. Mix thoroughly and allow it to dry up.
