Chuna Machha Thuk thuka
Thick Mustard gravy with small fish
iNGREDIENTS:
- Fish -250gm
- Onion chopped -1
- Mustard paste -1tbsp
- Turmeric powder -1tsp
- Tomato chopped – 1
- Green chilli silted -2
- Red chilli powder -1tsp
- Panch Phuran – ½ tsp
- Lemon – ½
- Garlic clove -6
- Mustard seeds -1tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Oil – 3tbsp
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
- Clean & wash the fishes in running water. Add one spoon of salt and little water. Rinse thoroughly to clean the hidden dart. Again wash with running water. Drain out water fully.
- Now add salt and turmeric powder. Mix thoroughly and put in rest for 10 minutes.
- Make fine paste of garlic, mustard and cumin.
- Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add fishes. Shallow fry both the sides. Ensure both the sides are evenly cooked.
- Take out the fishes from the pan.
- Add oil to Pan and heat it. Add Panch Phuran and allow it crackle.
- Add green chili and onion. Fry a little.
- Add Tomato & turmeric powder.Fry to ensure tomato is cooked fully.
- Add mustard paste & red chili powder. Mix thoroughly.
- Add ¾ cup of water. Wait for a boil.
- Add fried fishes to the gravy. Mix thoroughly and allow it to dry up.
